Although he probably wasn’t aware of it at the time, pop star and woman beater Chris Brown was seen earlier this month in Los Angeles sporting a custom-made leather jacket with spikes and patches of metal and hardcore bands. Among the bands on the jacket: Excel, Municipal Waste, Cro-Mags and the Exploited. Aside from looking like something that only a member of Jersey Shore would wear, we’re sure that Brown is not aware of any of the bands on the jacket.

Will Brown’s jacket serve as a “gateway drug” for the millions of teenage girls that inexplicably still look up to him and change their taste from lightweight R&B to thrash and hardcore? Not likely. If you want to pick up a jacket like Brown’s to pair with your favorite Ed Hardy shirt, you can do that here. The most famous album by The Exploited was called Punk’s Not Dead. If it wasn’t before, it is now.

Update: Municipal Waste have responded to Brown’s sartorial taste via Twitter, saying “For the record, Chris Brown can sport our shit all he wants. We still think he is a fucking moron.” Well played, dudes.

ALSO, check out a picture of Brown’s jacket from the back (featuring Corrosion of Conformity, D.R.I. and Suicidal Tendencies patches) AND a shot of Rhianna wearing the same jacket here.

UPDATE: We had the chance to speak with the designer of the jacket, Noel Austin, about his thoughts on all of this. See what he had to say about Brown here.
