Paws, Pets & Metal is Metal Insider’s ongoing column on bands with pets, discovering who watches them on the road, and more. Get to know more about these metal furbabies. We caught up with Iowa black metal project Sith’ari, led by Lord Kafir of Nedakh to unveil that Lord Kafir’s dog prefers calming, classical music over heavier songs.

Tell us more about your pet(s) and their names?

LK: She is a 10 year old Rottweiler named Lyla. She may sound intimidating as hell because, you know, big scary Rottweiler, she’s going to rip your face off and eat your right arm, but no, she is just a very timid scared chicken, which is absolutely hilarious.

Have you ever taken your pet on tour?

LK: I haven’t been on a tour yet, and I believe Lyla is too old to deal with that stuff. Fortunately, my wife has always taken great care of her.

Who looks after your pet while on the road?

LK: My Wife

What’s your pet’s favorite song or album?

LK: Something really calm and soothing. So something classical or possibly an orchestral piece that is bright, calming, and uplifting

How did you introduce your pet to metal?

LK: By my guitar playing and randomly creating new songs.

What animal charity means most to you?

LK: Noah’s Hope in Sioux City Iowa. They are an animal shelter that houses all types of abused, neglected and newborn dogs and cats and rehabilitates them for adoption.
