In Case You Didn’t Get Enough Metal Awards Show Coverage

Posted by on August 11, 2010

So the Revolver and Metal Hammer/Kawasaki Golden Gods wasn’t enough to fill your hunger for metal award shows eh? Or maybe it’s just that Germans don’t want to associate with us and our nominees (what’s the matter, not metal enough to have a “Hottest Chick” winner?). Whatever the case may be, the second annual German edition of the Metal Hammer award show recently took place during the Wacken Open Air Festival in Wacken, Germany this past weekend (August 5-7). Just like the American and U.K. award shows, the German version had similar categories (with a few exceptions).

You can take a look at the complete list of winners below, and can also watch video messages from winners such as Slayer’s Kerry King, Wendy Dio (on behalf of Ronnie James Dio), Motorhead’s Lemmy and Steel Panther on the German magazine’s website. Wow, Steel Panther seems to be popular everywhere but the United States (well, everywhere in the United States minus the Sunset Strip).
