Minsk-The-Crash-and-Draw-e1422383472436It’s  been six years since Minsk last released an album. The pioneering post-metal band had three albums under their belt before disbanding in 2011. Thankfully, it didn’t take, and they found themselves back together in 2013. The band are equal parts psychedelia, sludge, melody and crushing heaviness. Original member Sanford Parker isn’t in the band any more, but he did produce the Illinois band’s sprawling eleven-track album, The Crash and the Draw, which will be released on April 7. Listening to the whole album is meditative experience. And now you can do just that, even though it’s not in stores for another seven days. Decibel is streaming the album, so head on over there, check out their snazzy new website design, and listen to it. It’s 76 minutes of your life you won’t regret, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see this pop up on a lot of year-end lists.

The Crash and the Draw will be released on April 7 on Relapse. You can preorder it here.
